Hello my friend. How are you today?
I’d like to take this chance to say.
I’m glad that we can get along at play,
and that you’re my friend each and every day.

Please don’t hesitate to ask me for help,
if there’s a problem that you’ve been dealt.
For no matter how hard our lives may be,
please know that you can always count on me.

Building trust is a must
when it comes to friendship,
though it isn’t always easy to do.
It takes patience, honesty,
and a willingness to listen,
respect and understanding too.

We look different, speak different,
and are good at different things.
That’s why we should respect our friends,
and know the joy it brings.

Caring, sharing, and courteousness,
are important ingredients too,
in the recipe for respecting our friends,
and knowing all the things they say and do.

Cooperation and problem solving
are important as can be.
So is being kind and reliable,
and pointing out friends’ good qualities.

Please be aware of how others may feel,
find out if they’re happy or sad.
And let them know that your friendship is real,
by asking them about the kind of day they had.

You can make a difference in someone’s day
with a simple wave or smile.
And it won’t be long before you’ll get one back,
yes, it will only take awhile.

The time may come when you may make a mistake,
so be sure to accept the blame.
Your friends will see it as a good example,
and in the future, they may do the same.

Please focus on the good things
that your friends may choose to do,
like being kind and patient,
with others and with you.
